Infrastructure, in the form of roads, is the most visible and unifying element in a development. It provides the connective tissue within the community. Our site planning experience allows us to design infrastructure that minimizes inefficient parcel shapes and sizes, while creating a stronger community identity through landscape and theme elements. Our infrastructure designs create picturesque distant views that are not always possible within a tight neighborhood layout. Great care is taken to avoid creating excessive infrastructure, not only because of its wasteful costs, but also because of the high-speed traffic that is generated, which deteriorates the sense of neighborhood. For these reasons, we have developed techniques that creatively use infrastructure as a community-building element.
We also work with engineering teams to seamlessly incorporate other infrastructure facilities such as well sites, water tanks, pump buildings, air release valves, sewer lift stations, water treatment facilities, substations, electrical switch cabinets, transformers, streetlights, traffic signals, cellular communication towers and trash receptacle locations. Our team can also plan routes for major utility corridors, both through communities and on a regional level. To do this, we find creative ways to work with the natural topography in order to maximize the efficiency of the infrastructure and minimize costs. |
